School Employees Insurance has supported educators for more than 25 years. They are committed to seeing teachers and their students succeed. They have become a national sponsor of DonorsChoose.org a not-for-profit organization that connects donors with teachers who want to help fund classroom projects, technologies and equipment.

Teachers register with DonorsChoose.org, submit a project that describes what material is needed and how students will be impacted. Donors from around the country can then choose to support it. Once the project is fully funded, teachers and students write “thank you” messages to donors to show their appreciation.

It’s that easy!

What type of projects can be submitted?

DonorsChoose.org has helped teachers fund a variety of projects - from staplers to bookshelves to books to projectors, and everything in between. Project requests can vary but all have a common theme – all help students succeed in the classroom.

How do you get started?

  1. Visit www.DonorsChoose.org/teacher.

  2. Select “Get Started” to create a teacher account.

  3. Select “Create a Project” then “Get Started.”

  4. Select project type, then “Save and Create Title.”

  5. Name the project, then “Save and Go Shopping” at e-school mall.

  6. “Continue” through the tips DonorsChoose.org provides, then “Search” or “Go To Website” to shop for materials.

  7. “Save and Summarize” the shopping cart then write a summary sentence about the request.

  8. Tell the story of the classroom and project idea.

  9. Tell donors the impact the materials will have on the students, confirm the project details and submit.

    1. Take a look at our You Tube video on Donors Choose.

PASS Program

Perfect Attendance Spells Success

Personal Achievement Spells Success programs encourage students to work hard to achieve whatever academic goals or classroom achievement you set. Students who respond well to the program qualify for prizes – such as a bike or an iPod – in a drawing at the end of a specified period.

PASS programs are yours to administer as you see fit. You set the rules, you decide how long the program runs, and you determine how prize winners will be chosen. In return, School Employees Insurance the Rich Israel Agency will sponsor the program and provide the prizes and promotion.

Lunch & Learn

Lunch and Learn

Our lunch-n-learn is a 15 minute seminar for your employees while they eat their lunch. The seminar is chuck full of information that most people don’t know about their (STRS) State Teachers Retirement System or what you need to know about homeowners and auto insurance.

Set up a 15 minute Lunch and Learn Workshop at your School. While your employees eat their lunch, we can help your Teachers and staff understand how to manage a retirement plan, understand the options that are available in their plan, and learn about recent updates. We will also explain the changes that have taken place in guaranteed replacement costs on homes. We can explain the importance of taking a home inventory and what a home policy does not typically cover. We can even discuss ways to avoid Identity Theft. Additionally, we have valuable information regarding youthful drivers. The list goes on and we would be excited to share this information with your valued school teachers and staff. Again, the seminar lasts only 15 minutes and is extremely informative.
